WHEN CREATURES ROAM TO JEROME 2 PART 1
First off I want to thank everyone that came and helped make the weekend of the 25th and 26th of October a huge success. Well as a lot of you already know I had some complications with the camping location the day before the ride. TOTAL BUMMER. The original camp out was suppose to be at the Gold King Mine in Jerome, but old Don had some reservations last minute due to the city coming down on him about us partying up there. Jerome is not really a moto friendly town anymore. However that wasn't going to stop me from showing these great people a good time here in AZ. Just have to have faith that things will work out sometimes. Luckily for me the power of this motorcycle community is strong. People came together and started to spread the word that I needed a little help. Next thing I knew people I had never met before where getting a hold of me trying to help me figure out a place for us to all end up.
So we met up Saturday morning at the shop for Donuts and Beers around 8 am. I had some two wheeled troopers camping in my parking lot just to make sure they didn't miss out on this wild adventure through the state. That was so rad by the way. I couldn't believe how many people showed up to support this event especially with all the last minute changes. Just goes to show that its not always about the destination as much as it is about the journey. We gassed up and hit the road around 9am.
By the time we got up to Jerome Shifty, Dave, and their local crew where waiting for the group to arrive with big smiles and warm hand shakes. Right away they came up to me with a new solution to the problem. They were offering us something we couldn't refuse. A safe, quit, and trouble free place to enjoy ourselves. I asked all 60 riders / 90 campers to take a vote on what they all thought about the new destination in Cornville, AZ. Everyone was game for some more spontaneity mixed with a little faith. NOMAD kind of stuff. HAHA it should have been called the Spontaneity Run really. Hell to be truthfully honest it turned out better then I could have ever planned. I'm sorry if you missed it because I couldn't repeat something so pure even if I tried. When we showed up in Cornville to our suprise the location was perfect. There was a place for the fire, tents, imagination, and all the rad people that where ready to get down and have some laughs. Again a Big Thanks goes out to the Cornville crew for hooking us up with a rad location.Well I'm terrible at writing so Ill let these photos tell the rest of the story. I hope you enjoy them even though they don't really do the trip justice. Don't miss out on next years adventure. Until then keep the rubber side down.
